Say it ain't so. After eight unforgettable seasons, it's hard to believe the journey is ending for the CW's hit football drama, "All American."

The acclaimed series returns for its final season with a special two-hour premiere on July 13 at 8 p.m. (ET/PT), giving fans one last chance to cheer on their favorite characters as their stories reach an emotional conclusion.

Despite saying goodbye, "All American" leaves behind an impressive legacy. By the time the series takes its final bow, it will have delivered eight groundbreaking seasons and 132 episodes, cementing its place as one of The CW's most successful dramas.

More than just a football series, "All American" evolved into a heartfelt coming-of-age story that explored identity, family, ambition, and the importance of staying true to your roots. The series continues to rank as The CW's No. 1 entertainment program in primetime among adults 18-49 and 25-54 and remains the network's top performer on The CW app.

Executive producer and showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll, along with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, helped create a series that resonated with audiences far beyond the football field.

I'll admit, I had my doubts about Season 7. After leading man Daniel Ezra (Spencer James) stepped away as a series regular following Season 6--returning only briefly--and with the shocking loss of Taye Diggs' beloved Coach Billy Baker, I wondered how the show could possibly move forward without two of its biggest stars. Those concerns quickly disappeared. The writing team, led by April Blair, Carrie Gutenberg, Obiageli Odimegwu, and the talented creative staff skillfully ushered in a new generation of characters while honoring the show's legacy.

The new cast proved they were more than ready to carry the torch. Nathaniel Logan McIntyre brought charisma and depth to Kingston "KJ" Jeremy, showcasing the same star quality he displayed as Jackie Jackson in the "Michael" biopic. He was joined by standout performances from Antonio J. Bell as Khalil Edwards, Alexis Chikaeze as Amina Simms, and Osy Ikhile as Beverly Hills High's new football coach. Together, they injected fresh energy into the series while preserving the heart and authenticity that fans have come to love.

As "All American" prepares to close out its remarkable run, fans can expect one final season filled with emotional storytelling, compelling relationships, and inspirational moments. While saying goodbye won't be easy, the show's lasting impact on television--and on its loyal audience--is undeniable. At this time, we should have a moment of silence.

But really, if you watched the one-hour "All American" special last week, leading up to this finale season, Bre-Z (Tamia "Coop" Cooper) said that audiences are in for an incredible and unforgettable ride. I have no doubt that will be the case and am buckled up and ready to roll.
