The end is near for the award-winning drama "All American."

The CW Network is rolling out a one hour special on June 22 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) to give fans a look back at this beloved and culturally impactful series prior to the show's eighth and final season which debuts July 13 at 8 p.m. (ET/PT).

If you're a huge fan, like me, this will be a real bittersweet moment. I will have a preview story on "All American's season eight posted on N2Entertainment.net July 6.

"All American," from creator April Blair, debuted October 18, 2018. The show is inspired by the life of professional American football player Spencer Paysinger. It originally revolved around teen Spencer James (Daniel Ezra), a rising star football player from Crenshaw whose dream is to make it to the NFL, as he is recruited by coach Billy Baker (Taye Diggs) to play for his high school team in Beverly Hills.

"All American: The Final Season Special" which airs June 22, chronicles the journey of the characters who captured the hearts of viewers both on and off the field from day one. The dynamic cast features Daniel Ezra as Spencer James, Samantha Logan as Olivia Baker, Michael Evans Behling as Jordan Baker, Bre-Z as Tamia "Coop" Cooper, Chelsea Tavares as Patience, Cody Christian as Asher Adams, Greta Onieogou as Layla Keating, Jalyn Hall as Dillon James, Karimah Westbrook as Grace James, Monet Mazur as Laura Fine-Baker, Taye Diggs as Billy Baker, and Hunter Clowdus, as JJ Parker among others.

The tribute will look back at the show's most memorable moments, relationships, and milestones, honoring the legacy of a series that has resonated with audiences and redefined the modern sports drama.

I would have loved seeing some crossover episodes of "All American" and "All-American Homecoming." The latter show was also an excellent drama. It featured a phenomenal and cast that included Peyton Alex Smith (Damon), GeffriMaya (Simone Hicks), Martin Bobb-Semple (Lando), Sylvester Powell (JR), Camille Hyde (Thea), Cory Hardrict (Marcus Turner), Mitchell Evans (Cam Watkin), Netta Walker (Keisha), and Kelly Jennette (Amara Patterson).

Maybe some of them will make a surprise appearance in the new season of "All American." Either way, I'm eager to tune in first on June 22 and then July 13 for the final go round and to see what the show's extraordinary writers have in store for fans who have enjoyed every minute of this wonderful ride.

"All American" is produced by Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios in association with Berlanti Productions, with executive producers Nkechi Okoro Carroll ("Found," "The Resident"), Greg Berlanti ("You," "Brilliant Minds," "The Flash"), Jameal Turner ("Rosewood"), Sarah Schechter ("The Flight Attendant," "Riverdale," "You"), and David Strauss ("One Tree Hill").
