Can you believe it? After eight amazing seasons, the ABC hit comedy "Black-ish" is finished.

The series premiered in 2014 and hit the ground running. The "Black-ish" finale airs tonight, April 19 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT).

It will be followed by "Black-ish:" A Celebration--An ABC News Special" (9:30 p.m.) and will feature interviews with the cast of the show.

The Los Angeles Times has an excellent tribute article about "Black-ish" and how it bucked the trend and made a huge impact in the television world. Check out the article here: (https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/tv/story/2022-04-17/blackish-abc-finale-anthony-anderson-tracee-ellis-ross-kenya-barris). It sums up everything I have loved about this show.

Thank you Kenya Barris for depicting another slice of the Black experience and family life with such passion, joy, pain, style, and love.

It has been a remarkable run, and as much as I teared up over last week's outstanding episode, "If a Black Man Cries in the Woods," I'm sure this finale episode "Homegoing" will be even more emotional.

Hats off to all the writers, directors, and producers of "Black-ish" for their courage and bold vision to push the envelope and take an honest and deep dive into significant issues affecting not just the "Johnson Family," but Black people from all social classes.

To the cast, I cannot say enough about your talents. You made us think and laugh and laugh again. So, thank you Anthony Anderson, the true anchor of the show, Miles Brown, Marsai Martin, Yara Shahidi, Tracee Ellis Ross, Marcus Scribner, Deon Cole, and the true gem, Ms. Jenifer Lewis.

Thank you for representing and elevating the game. Take a bow. Raise a glass or two. You deserve it.

Be sure to catch the finale episode of "Black-ish" tonight at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) followed by "Black-ish:" A Celebration--An ABC News Special" (9:30) and will feature interviews with the cast of the show.
