"Ain’t Too Proud–The Life and Times of The Temptations," is the electrifying, new smash-hit Broadway musical that follows Motown's hitmaking group The Temptations and their extraordinary journey from the streets of Detroit to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The dazzling musical makes its Broadway Sacramento debut Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Safe Credit Union Performing Arts Center. The show runs through Nov. 12.

With their signature dance moves and silky-smooth harmonies, The Temptations, founded by Otis Williams--the last surviving original member of the group-- rose to the top of the charts creating an amazing 42 Top Ten Hits with 14 reaching No. 1. They included songs such as "Get Ready," "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," “Papa Was a Rolling Stone," "I Wish it Would Rain," "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me"), "My Girl," "Ball of Confusion," and "I Can't Get Next to You" among others.

Nominated for 12 Tony Awards and the winner of the 2019 Tony Award for Best Choreography, "Ain’t Too Proud" tells the thrilling story of brotherhood, family, loyalty, and betrayal, as the group's personal and political conflicts threatened to tear them apart during a decade of civil unrest in America.

Written by three-time Obie Award winner Dominique Morisseau, directed by two-time Tony Award winner Des McAnuff ("Jersey Boys"), and featuring the Tony-winning choreography of Sergio Trujillo ("Jersey Boys," "On Your Feet!"), the unforgettable story of this sensational quintet is set to the beat of the group’s treasured hits songs.

"Ain't Too Proud" promises to delight audiences of all ages. However, if you grew up during the heyday of Motown's finest acts like the Temptations, this group holds an incredibly special place in your heart. The Temptations music is soulful, meaningful and continues to resonate worldwide.

I recently met Motown’s legendary founder Berry Gordy..I thanked him for his vision and musical contributions and particularly for singers and groups like The Jackson Five, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, and Tammi Terrell. He was gracious and genuinely moved.

I missed "Ain't Too Proud" when it debuted in New York, but rest assured I will be front and center on Nov. 7 at Sacramento's Safe Credit Union Performing Arts Center for this incredible show.

If you're a Motown/Temptations fan, it's must-see. Get ready.
