SINGER/SONGWRITER SINEAD HARNETT DELIVERS NEW SINGLE "STICKIN'" FROM HER UPCOMING NEW ALBUM.
Compiled Lana K. Wilson-Combs
UK R&B singer-songwriter Sinéad Harnett - known for her powerhouse vocals and major collaborations with Disclosure, Kaytranada, and Rudimental to name just a few--has recruited acclaimed genre-bending musical polyglot Masego and the renowned contemporary R&B sister duo VanJess for her new single "Stickin'" available now on all digital streaming platforms via The Orchard.
“Stickin’” is co-produced by Sunny Kale and Mike Brainchild and is the first single off Sinéad's highly anticipated sophomore album due out later this year.
On the inspiration behind the new track, Sinéad shares, "When we were making the track it felt like summer to me, and I wanted to bring a little contrast to that lyrically. Often the people that most get on our nerves are the ones we're closest to. The ones we'll always stick by. I loved how VanJess made their own spin on that notion, and how Masego gave his side to the story in response."
ABOUT SINÉAD HARNETT:
Sinéad Harnett has a voice you simply must hear to believe. The critically acclaimed North London-born R&B powerhouse vocalist burst onto the scene thanks to a series of major collaborations with the likes of Disclosure ("Boiling"), Kaytranada ("Heal You" ft. Wretch 32, "Say What You Mean"), Snakeships ("No Other Way," "Rather Be With You"), and perhaps most notably on three of Rudimental's tracks off his UK #1 album Home ("Home," "Hide," and "Baby" with MNEK).
With a handful of features and tours supporting Disclosure and Rudimental under her belt, Sinéad saw her career defining moment in 2016 with the release of her hit single "If You Let Me" featuring frequent collaborator Grades. With over 65 million streams to date on Spotify alone, the song continues to be a pool of discovery for new fans.
Sinéad teamed up with the London producer again for her 2018 single "Body," which saw her give a riveting live performance for the Colors stage that has clocked over 15 million views on YouTube.
In 2019, Sinéad saw the release of her long-awaited debut album, “Lessons in Love,” which explores the layered complexities within love, and all that she's learned from it. When speaking of the meaning behind her full-length debut, she explained, "Once it was finished, I stepped back and recognized all the healing I had been doing through letting the pain go away with the songs. I want to invite my fans to embark on that same journey to loving themselves too."
Now managed by Courtney Stewart of Right Hand Co. (Khalid), Sinéad is gearing up for an exciting 2020 as she preps for the release of her highly anticipated sophomore album.
"Seemingly, every two or three years, the UK music industry births a new chanteuse with globe-worthy vocals," marked Complex. "Now, though, all eyes are on Sinéad Harnett, with her effortlessly-cool demeanor and gospel-inflected tones."
Masego is a self-taught singer, rapper, songwriter, comedian, producer, DJ, and more, all skills that he fuses into his self-described genre "TrapHouseJazz."
He has toured around the world and has performed with Kendrick Lamar, Flying Lotus, Thundercat, J. Cole, Ari Lennox, and more. His debut album, “Lady Lady,” landed on several Billboard charts, including No. 4 on Top New Artist Albums Consumption, No. 13 on R&B Album Sales, No. 22 on Heatseekers Albums, and No. 40 on R&B/Hip Hop Album Sales charts.
The 13-song collection features the now RIAA-certified Gold-selling lead single "Tadow" and collaborations with SiR, FKJ, Tiffany Gouche, Kehlani, and De'Wayne Jackson.
Born in Jamaica, he took on the stage name Masego meaning "Blessing" and "Prosperity" in the Tswana language that also comes from his South African heritage.
Growing up between Lagos, Nigeria, and California, VanJess have brought an entirely new take to contemporary R&B, one that pays tribute to '90s greats like TLC, SWV, and Aaliyah, while instinctually inciting an inimitable style.
The sisters cut their teeth online with a string of viral covers, bursting onto the scene with their self-released debut album, Silk Canvas, in 2018. The album was a definitive R&B statement, a smooth, seductive record establishing the sisters as ones to watch, to take the R&B world by storm.
In addition to their debut, the girls most recently contributed shimmering vocals on Xavier Ömar's recent album via their feature on "Just Get Here," and they connected again with Kaytranada on "Taste."
VanJess opened for TrapHouseJazz king Masego on his 2018 North American 'Lady, Lady' tour, performed on SNL with Khalid in 2019, and just returned from opening for Gallant on tour. Currently, VanJess is prepping to release new singles in the spring, leading up to an album by the end of 2020.
