The 5th Annual Celebration of Black Cinema & Television was held Dec. 5 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles and hosted by comedian/actor Bill Bellamy.

The show will premiere Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. on KTLA television and everywhere else on Nexstar stations throughout the month of February in honor of Black History Month. Be sure and check your local listings.

N2Entertainment.net attended the Celebration of Black Cinema & Television and it was a spectacular event. Honorees in attendance included: Michael B. Jordan, winner of the Melvin Van Peebles Trailblazer Award, Quinta Brunson (Actress Award for Television), Berry "Motown" Gordy (Icon Award), Scott "Kid Cudi" Mescudi (Groundbreaker Award), and Elegance Bratton (Social Justice Award).

The dynamic Angela Bassett received the Career Achievement Award and was thoroughly grateful for the honor and recognition bestowed to her by the Critics Choice Association.

I'm hoping this will be Bassett's time to truly shine. She won a Golden Globe Award (Jan. 10) for "Best Supporting Actress" for her outstanding performance in "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever." She also received my Critics Choice Awards vote for "Best Supporting Actress" too. She's deserving of every award out there.

Speaking of the Critics Choice Awards, if you look at the TV Close-Up section, you'll see the big star-studded show, hosted by Chelsea Handler will air Jan. 15 on the CW Network.

Take a look at the list of nominees and who N2Entertainment.net voted for based on the CCA's final categories. It should be noted that some of the picks are different than the final choices for my Top 20 Movies of 2022 which are currently posted on N2Entertainment.net's "Reel Movie News section.

Enjoy The 5th Annual Celebration of Black Cinema & Television on Jan. 21 on KTLA at 7 p.m.

PEACOCK ANNOUNCES HORROR THRILLER "UNTITLED IAN MCCULLOCH PROJECT" WITH JAMES WAN EXECUTIVE PRODUCING

Peacock will feature the contemporary horror thriller "Untitled Ian McCulloch Project." The series comes from James Wan's Atomic Monster and UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group.

The series follows a disparate group of people on a ranch who must come together in the face of a mysterious threat. The series is inspired by the New York Times bestselling novel "Stinger" by Robert McCammon.

"We are so excited for this adrenalized thriller about a group of people overcoming adversity, that's both entertaining and emotional," said Lisa Katz, President Scripted Content, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. "We know this upcoming drama will be in expert hands with James Wan, E.L. Katz, Ian McCulloch, our partners at UCP, and is sure to be a binge-worthy mystery for Peacock audiences."

"When you bring together James Wan, Ian McCulloch, E.L. Katz and a bestselling novel by Robert McCammon, you've got all the ingredients for an incredible series," added Beatrice Springborn, President, UCP. "We're ecstatic to partner with Peacock to bring this thrill ride of a show to their audience."

ABOUT THE NOVEL "STINGER"

"Stinger" takes place during a single twenty-four-hour period in Inferno, Texas. Inferno is a town in trouble, driven to the brink by racial tension, gang violence, and a collapsing economy. But things can always get worse, and they do so with astonishing speed.

ABOUT THE SERIES:

Atomic Monster's James Wan ("The Conjuring" Universe, "Archive 81," "Malignant"), Michael Clear ("Archive 81," "Swamp Thing") and Rob Hackett ("Archive 81," "I Know What You Did Last Summer") will executive produce alongside director (101) / executive producer E.L.
