The Third Annual Safeway Open, presented by Chevron, kicks off Oct. 4-7 at the Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, California.
Some of the biggest stars of the PGA Tour--including Phil Mickelson--will descend on California’s beautiful wine country to compete for a $6.4 million-dollar purse, with $1.152 million going to the winner.
The Safeway Open not only brings together PGA golf action, but delicious food and fine wine along with rocking good music after the day’s golf play concludes.
The three-night musical lineup begins Oct. 4, with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and former Van Halen lead singer Sammy Hagar and his new band The Circle, performing classics from his career. The band features former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, drum legend Jason Bonham and guitarist Vic Johnson.
On Oct. 5, rock group Young the Giant, featuring lead singer Sameer Gadhia, will take the stage to perform their hit songs “Cough Syrup” and “It’s About Time.”
The final night of music takes place Oct. 6 with Grammy-nominated rocker Billy Idol.
“The Safeway Open offers our fans the best value on the PGA Tour featuring world-class golf and music along with amazing food and wines at the most affordable pricing of the year,” said Jeff Sanders, executive director of the Safeway Open presented by Chevron. “It’s going to be another fun week of entertainment filled with great golf, delicious food, fine wines and amazing music at the Silverado.”
Albertsons Companies CEO and Chairman Bob Miller announced back in March that this year’s Safeway Open presented by Chevron and Safeway Open Concert series will be donating 100 percent of all ticket sales in support of the ongoing fire relief efforts in the Napa Valley.
Held annually at Silverado Resort and Spa, the PGA Tour golf event and concert series concluded just a few hours before the devastating fires hit the area last October.
Previous lineups for the Safeway Open Concert Series have included: Weezer, X Ambassadors, Goo Goo Dolls, Third Eye Blind, Gavin DeGraw and Charles Kelley from Lady Antebellum.
Daily tickets to the Safeway Open PGA Tour event are $30 and on sale. They include admission to the Safeway Open Concert Series, as well as the 27,000-square-foot Safeway Food and Wine Pavilion featuring prime viewing platforms and many on-site food, wine, beer and spirits venues. There is no additional cover charge or upgraded tickets needed for entry into these venues on the golf course.
