Robert David Port?s (TV?s ?Agent X?) thrilling World War II drama
?Recon? is loosely based on true events and adapted from Richard Bausch?s 2008 award-winning novel, ?Peace.?
?Recon? opened in limited theaters on Veteran?s Day. The heroic story revolves around four American soldiers, Marson (Alexander Ludwig, ?Boys For Life? and TV?s "Vikings"), Joyner (Sam Keeley, TV?s "68 Whiskey"), Heisman (RJ Fetherstonhaugh, TV?s ?Snowpiercer?) and Asch (Chris Brochu, TV?s ?The Rookie?).
The men recently completed a brutal mission, yet their commander, Officer Rogers, (Lochlyn Munro, TV?s ?The Good Doctor? and ?Riverdale?) sends them back out on reconnaissance through a mountainous region near Rome where allied troops are staging an attack against the Germans.
The American soldiers must contend with several obstacles along the way from horrific weather and mines, to a dilapidated bridge and hungry wolves.
When they encounter an elderly man (Franco Nero, ?John Wick: Chapter 2? and upcoming ?Django Lives!?) and insist he show them the safest way around the mountain, they soon begin to regret enlisting his help and question his loyalties when they become targets of an unseen sniper. Now, they must find a way to survive being picked off one by one.
?Recon? isn?t a big budget film, however, Port?s steady direction and the capable cast convincingly conveys the psychological effects of war which heightens the film?s effectiveness and keeps you locked in.
