?The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special? that?s streaming on Disney+ is a light, breezy and fun-filled romp that you?ll wish was longer than 43 minutes.

Yet, even with the brief run time, this holiday special is filled with plenty of exciting action that will delight ?Star Wars? fans both young and old.

?The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special? is likely to replace the 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special that wasn?t universally embraced by the ?Star Wars? faithful.
It?s too early to tell how this one will shake out, although early indicators reveal it?s already resonating with audiences.

In ?The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special,? Poe, Rey, Finn, R2-D2, Rose and the rest of the gang are all here as they prepare to celebrate Life Day/Christmas with Chewie?s family on Kashyyyk.

The best laid plans however go astray when Rey and BB-8 decide to board Luke Skywalker?s old X-Wing. A magic key sends them through a dimension/time-traveling portal which unveils characters from the past like The Emperor and Darth Vader who plan to spoil their Christmas celebration.

While a few of the original voice cast are on board in ?The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special? such as Billy Dee Williams? Lando and Kelly Marie Tran as Rose, others like John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe), and Daisy Ridley (Rey) aren?t. Although they are missed, thankfully their absence doesn?t drastically alter the short or diminish the fun.

Best of all, ?The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special? treats viewers to all sorts of clever, inside jokes and nostalgia. You may need to see it at least twice to pick up on all of them. May the force be with you.
