Fans of the original 2001 "Cats & Dogs" movie, have had to wait much too long for a sequel to find out about their beloved animals. Now, the wait is over with the arrival of "Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore."

Although clearly geared for kids, "Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore" is for the dog and cat lover in all of us. In this high-tech caper, our four-legged friends are highly trained super spies on a mission.

Of course the film is outright silly, but that doesn't mean it isn't a lot of fun, especially if you're seven or eight years old. There's something just bananas about watching a dog or cat talk, but if you're familiar with the first movie, you'll know what to expect.

"Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore" features an incredible pool of voice talent from Bette Midler, Nick Nolte, Christina Applegate, James Marsden to Sean Hayes, Roger Moore, Chris O'Donnell, Neal Patrick Harris and even comedian Katt Williams to name a few.

The story is simple. When Diggs, the police dog (James Marsden) is suspended for bad behavior, he is sentenced to time in the pen much to the shame of his partner (Chris O'Donnell). Diggs isn't in for too long.

There's a secret dog agency led by Lou, the beagle (Neil Patrick Harris) and Butch and Anatolian shepherd (Nick Nolte) that wants Diggs to join their elite tactical canine unit and try to get a handle on the ongoing feline problem that's causing all sorts of havoc.

The leader of this cat gang is the hairless, Kitty Galore (Bette Midler). She still hasn't gotten over some family issues and has gone completely rogue. Her goal is to make dogs slaves and control the cat world and turn them against their owners and masters.

She has all the up to date gadgetry to make this happen, but she also uses carrier pigeons, including a crazy one named Seamus (Katt Williams). Thankfully not everyone is on board to see Kitty rule the world. Catherine, (Christina Applegate), the leader of the underground group, the "MEOWS," and her former rival, Mr. Tinkles (Sean Hayes) have devised a scheme to thwart Kitty's plans. It includes uniting with their fellow canines. It's just the second chance Diggs needs to restore his own confidence and become top dog again.

"Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore" has fun spoofing James Bond, "Batman" and "The Silence of the Lambs."

There's been a nice run of kids movies from "Toy Story 3" to "Despicable Me." "Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore" is "purr-fect" family fun.

REVIEW: Audiences may best remember Calvin Lockhart, as the tall, dark and handsome actor who starred in several 1970s blaxploitation films. Lockhart, who died March 29, 2007 from complications of a stroke, portrayed memorable characters like the Rev. Deke O'Malley in Ossie Davis' "Cotton Comes to Harlem" (1970); a disc-jockey and detective in...
